Disaster Resilience and Emergency Management is an International Journal published by “The Netherlands Press B.V.”
In recent years, there have been frequent earthquakes, landslides, debris flows, droughts, floods, typhoons, rainstorms, forest and grassland fires, and other natural disasters. Together, they have been responsible for a large number of casualties and property losses. Reducing the impact of natural disasters requires advanced perception, intelligent early warning, accurate prevention and control, and efficient rescue. Detailed scientific research and reports of major natural disaster cases can provide valuable experience and lessons to not only deal with disasters when they arise, but improve emergency response and management in the future.
Hazards, disasters, crisis and emergencies are key issues threating sustainable development and sustainability. Disasters impact individuals, families, institutions, communities, and societies, not only physically, but also socially. They may cause infrastructure damage, and economic and human life loss. Thus, the wish and processes of sustainable development are always disrupted by various kinds of disasters. Hence, this Journal provides a platform to discuss the various natural disasters and national emergencies and also recovery after disasters and sustainable development.
